One for the little guys

I've had this idea inspired by an old scrapbook page I once did. And finally I took the time to get it down on paper.  I mean a onesie.

I think it turned out adorable.  Here goes the unscramble...

How cute is that?
A perfect gift for a family of big sisters...
A perfect gift to give to grandma and grandpa to announce the sonogram results...
a perfect little onesie for a perfect little guy

Well, hello there!

Isn't it pretty?  I sure think so.  Ms. Kristin did such a fine job.  I am so thankful for her techy skills and design input.  And I'm super excited about blogging.  You know.  More than just every month or so. (whoops!)

So take a little look around.  Check it all out.  Become a follower.  Leave a comment.  There is even a little special something for you to use in my etsy store.  It's at the link mommy specials. I hope you like it :)

Etsy

I am in the middle of setting up my Etsy store.  Ooo,laaa, laa.  You all know I attempted this a while back.  A long while back.  So although it says I opened in 2008, I just signed up at that time to attempt to open.  Fast forward a few years, a few baseball games and dance recitals, meal makings and art projects and now pictures are posted.

Well, a few pictures.  Still working on that.

new addition!

These sweet infant shorts are a new addition to A Perfect Treasure's spring line. Add ruffles on the bum or a coordinating design to the onesie or dress. So many choices... but what fun! The shorts/diaper covers are without elastic on the legs so your sweet one is free to move without irritating that sensitive skin. Fushia and light pink covers are available in 6 month, 12 month and 18 month. Black covers are available in 18 month only. Add a burp cloth for the perfect gift!

blue or brown

Designing for a little guy is tough. No flowers, butterflies or fluffy hearts wanted.

My favorite little guy design is the light blue star with his name handstitched underneath. Perfect for that newborn. And you can never go wrong with a football or basketball. Then there is the trendy little fellow who needs a guitar. Or the military son with the camo star.

It's time to add a new twist to the boys line and I am trying to decide on blue or brown onesies. Both cover dirt well, can coordinate with the current closet and have boy written all over them. What's your thoughts? I am kinda leaning toward the brown. That way I can use all the fun blue fabrics to stitch on. Hmmmm

Special k

I can't believe I just bought 8 boxes of cereal. Yes. 8.

It was on sale.

I love special k vanilla almond. It makes me happy and is my "go to" snack when I can't decide what to eat. My kids think I'm silly. Especially Calvin who can't even stand the smell of cereal. He leaves the table if I am eating it. That's okay though. It makes it easier for me to snitch another one of my favorites, a piece of chocolate. :)

Are you or someone you know a ku or ksu fan? A simple "k" on a onesie in your favorite team's colors makes a great gift for that niece or nephew or friend. I have purple short sleeve onesies in size 3-6 months and a few red long sleeved ones left. And of course, white always works! I've also added some holiday onesies to my sale. If you know your sweet pea's size for next winter, stock up on that sweet Christmas or Halloween onesie now! Just $15.00 and shipping is free if you're a follower of this blog.

I just get tickled pink when I hear how much you love that sweet onesie or sassy tee.

I have some goodies for you. I have marked down all the remaining long sleeves tees to just $15.00. And.. if you are a follower of my blog the shipping is free. I know Katie Grace is getting tired of her winter clothes (maybe her mom needs to stitch her up something new :)) So now's the time to add to your closet or get geared up for next year. Just email me with the size you are needing and I'll let you know what I have. (there are a few holiday styles available!) If you need to see pics, I can do that for you too. Hurry! Word is already spreading...

American Heart Association

My son Calvin is participating in Jump Rope for Heart, an event to raise money for the American Heart Association. I remember participating in this same event as a girl. Our small rural school would divide us in teams of 4 where we would gather on a Saturday morning in the school gymnasium and start jumping! As a third grader, I specifically remember wearing my long tube socks and feeling so stylish for the event. In an effort to help raise money for this cause, A Perfect Treasure is offering special pricing on heart shaped applique onesies or tees for $22.00. A portion of the sales will benefit AHA. Don't delay! This offer is good through January 21st. Email me aperfecttreasure.com for availability of sizes and colors. Think spring and summer too. These design are cute as a button on tanks :)

LOVE, love, hearts and xo

I had so much fun creating this years' valentine designs. I couldn't stop at just one or two! As I was putting colors and designs together, I sighed at the sweetness of love in red polka dot and grinned at the sassiness of the zebra print. What speaks to the personality of your little one?

Christmas 2010

Bright trendy colors or more formal black and white. So many fun Christmas designs to choose from! More options? Sure... add the pink reindeer to a pink shirt, add a red bow to red nosed reindeer, make a zebra print ornament. Be creative! I'd love to work with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

I love what I do.  Really.  It's so fun creating that special little something just for you.  I first starting stitching over six years ago for family and friends.  It was just onesies back then, stitching that sweet little newborns name beneath a heart for a little girl or a star for a little boy.

Below I've listed some faq. Hopefully I can answer a few you may have.  If not, drop me a line.

Why hand-stitch?

Handstitching is unique. It gives the garment a look of craftsmanship, care and personality.  And it's so sweet and personal!  With handstitching, there is no doubt that the piece is one of a kind. It takes time, but I think it's worth the quality.

How do the garments wash?

Perfectly! I often throw Katie's item straight into the washer and dryer. However, to be on the safe side I would suggest turning the garment inside out. If ironing is needed, iron inside out as well.  Minky doesn't like that hot thing.

What type of fabric are the appliques made from?

I use the highest quality of minky fabric I can find. Minky is an ultra soft, micro-fiber fabric that is irresistably soft! Minky comes in many colors. Fushia, light pink, red, brown, lime green, navy blue, purple, yellow... the list goes on and on!  Most of the solid color minky is smooth although some have a soft raised dot that gives an added texture.  There are many patterns to choose from as well. On some of my appliques, I use a soft chenille fabric as well.

What brand of shirts do you use?

I use Carter's for all the long and short sleeved white onesies. Carter's is a popular brand that is a higher quality than Gerber's or Carter's less quality brand "child 'o mine". For tees and tanks I generally use Old Navy or a high quality online brand.  Shorts, dresses and skorts are a high quality online brand as well.

What sizes and colors of onesies/tees and tanks are available?

White onesies are available in sizes nb to 24 month.  Sizing is based on the baby's weight.  Here is a chart to help you decide what size is best for your sweet pea.
3 month = 7-12 lbs.
6 month = 12-16 lbs.
9 month = 16-20 lbs.
12 month = 20-24 lbs.
18 months = 24-28 lbs.
24 month = 28-32 lbs.
Now and then I have colored onesies available.  Shoot me an email for a special request.  I just may have the colored onesie in stock you are looking for! Tees and tanks are generally 2T-size 8 and come in an assortment of colors that are available on a limited basis.

I want to place an order. Now what?

Visit my etsy store or email me aperfecttreasure@yahoo.com In your email, describe the item you are wanting, size and design. And of course you can always find me at Mommyshop, Big Day Boutique and Events, Madi's Closet and Jolene's Children's Boutique.

Spring is just around the corner, isn't it?

Even though the snow is falling, the roads are icy and activities are being cancelled, I can't help thinking of spring! I created this cute butterfly pattern and have loved coming up with different color combinations. The pink with white polka dots is just plain SWEET. It would be so adorable paired with a fluffy pink tutu or ruffled pink pants. The orange and hot pink is just plain SASSY! So fun and vibrant and fresh for spring! I love the teal and black butterfly on red. It's UNIQUE, boutique style and screams "I'm not like everyone else!"

Christmas, Christmas time is here!

The Louisburg Holiday Mart was a hit! Thanks to all of you who stopped by. It was a whirlwind of a day. Soon it will be time to put the Christmas designs aside and start on something new! I will be posting pictures, so check back soon for some cool new designs...
Katie invited some friends to the annual "cookie day" at our church. Together they decorated sugar cookies, made a nativity scene, gingerbread magnet and an ornament. It was a special day for everyone, daddy included, who was the chaperone for the event.

Initially speaking...

Initials have gotten so popular lately. I first started adding monograms to onesies and white tees. They were adorable! I really love, however, when my customers have me step out of the box a little bit. Your ideas are great! For instance, Brielle knew quite for certain what she wanted... a bright pink tee with a green "b". I'm not sure how much of a choice Brinley had, but the teal "b" and bright pink tee is sweet. Thanks girls, for your inspiration!
Don't forget these initials are perfect for little guys, too. With baby boy colors or bold red, brown, or black, they make a cute, personal gift! Do you have a favorite sports team? Adding those initials to a tee is cute and unique! Oh the possibilities!
